The inspiration behind the original taste of GORKI LIST was FERNET, a bitter liqueur whose production was started in the facilities of the traditional manufacturing company Subotičanka back in 1953
The now familiar bitter taste of Subotičanka’s GORKI pelinkovac was created, and it has remained the same ever since.
With the change of the ownership structure of the traditional manufacturer Subotičanka, the pelinkovac was re-energized. An original glass was designed.
In order to protect the product’s originality, an original cap on pelinkovac bottles was introduced. The slogan THE ONE TRUE ORIGINAL was created at the same time…
In order to differentiate GORKI LIST from other pelinkovac products, and on the eve of world promotion of this brand, Subotičanka’s Pelinkovac Gorki was renamed Gorki list (Bitter Leaf) in September 2003.
GORKI LIST gets a new package – a new bottle of a unique and easily recognizable shape.
The packaging of Gorki list was placed on the market with new red details on the label, but also with a red cap, which conveys the essential brand-related messages – those of love, emotion, and passion.

On the occasion of marking the results of 100 million bottles sold during the past 62 years, GORKI LIST placed a 1250 ml package on the market priced as those of 1000 ml, as a big thank-you to all consumers and business associates for all the years of loyalty.
For the purpose of promoting friendship and camaraderie, GORKI LIST surprised its consumers with a PARTY limited series of products labeled with neon details.
As a guru of good fun, Gorki list surprised its consumers with the WHITE limited edition, which was created by coating the authentic GORKI LIST bottle with white foil.
Inspired by the idea of spreading fun and good vibes to new territories, GORKI LIST started activities for introducing this unique bitter liqueur in two highly challenging and promising markets – Russia and Germany.
